of a Centenarian Tibetan Woman on her Deathbed
“Impermanence is the phenomenon shared by all sentient beings.
Mountains, forests, and sentient beings are all equal in their impermanence.
With every breath, sentient beings rush toward inevitable death.
This certainty should not cloud our minds, but rather help us overcome obstacles.
Incomparable Lama, I pray to you.
In this life and the next, and in the intermediate state after death.
Hold me with your compassion; grant me your ceaseless blessings.
My body, my possessions, and all my virtuous qualities.
All of this I freely offer to all beings who have been my mothers.
May I be of great benefit to all beings.”
